Class 24 - D5077 at Reading
Came across this old photo taken at Reading General in about 1966/7 when I was a train spotter! There were two unusual parcel workings from the LMR on a Saturday morning which both originated at Bletchley then ran via Bicester London Rd, Oxford & Didcot. The first due around 10.00 was always hauled by a BR Sulzer Class 24 & the second, due about 13.00, by an EE Class 40. Both trains changed locos at Reading and went forward to Redhill (I think) behind a BRCW Class 33. The midland locos then returned light engine! The Class 08 is D3268 which was a regular station pilot.
Apologies for the poor quality but I've not yet approached retouching old prints as my normal photography doesn't involve this sort of technique!
