This needs to STOP

Okay, this is going to be a rant, so if you don't care, skip over this post.

Yesterday, Mattel introduced to the world the next wave of Fashionistas with new body types such as Curvy, Tall, and Petite. Lots of people are happy with the changes and have pre-ordered some dolls already, but I can't help but notice the same kind of comment everywhere on Flickr:

"Where's the articulation?!"

"Why do these not have MTM articulation?"

"I'd buy these if they had articulation, but since they don't, I'll pass."

Seriously, SHUT UP ABOUT ARTICULATION ALREADY.

You're entitled to your own opinion and I respect that, you can decide what dolls to buy or not to buy, and I won't force you because that's just stupid. But PLEASE, if you have complaints or are straight up whining about the lack of articulation, keep it OFF of my photostream.

Yes, the articulation the 2010-2013 Fashionistas had was awesome. Yes, I wish they'd bring it back, but apparently that's not happening again anytime soon. You do have the option of buying those bodies to put the new doll's head and clothes on if you wish. You have options if lack of articulation bothers you that much. Heck, Mattel even gave us Made to Move last year and it's probably the best articulated playline body ever. If you want articulation, get an old Fashionista or MTM and do a head swap.

This has been bothering me for years and I can't take it silently anymore. I grew up with the big blocky old Barbie bodies with no 'fancy' articulation except for rubber click knees. I didn't really have any of the "god-like" articulated Fashionistas because I couldn't afford many dolls at that time. Some of my favorite dolls have the older bodies, and they're not automatically crap dolls due to lack of articulation. Whenever non-articulated dolls are insulted, it feels as if you are saying my collection and interests are crap, and that's not okay. I have a lot of the 2015 Fashionistas and love the poses their bodies come in. If they all had the exact same articulated body then they'd lose their charm and individuality. Some dolls work better with a poseable body, and others don't.

You can say you don't like non-articulated dolls and that's fine. But you can't straight up insult them or whine for more articulation in current Barbies on my photostream. Do that elsewhere if you must. I'm sure more articulation is on it's way, just wait and see what Mattel comes up with as the years go by. Mattel has been pretty good about listening to consumers lately, so if you whine and complain to them, I'm sure they'll listen.

Keep this off of my pictures. I'm done with seeing these comments on EVERY new Barbie release.
