A boat built from obscure wooden objects donated by members of the public intended as a living archive of memories has been unveiled.
The yhact has been constructed from more than 1,200 wooden items, including shavings from a Hendrix guitar, relics from World War II and part of HMS Victory. Each piece was donated by a family or individual, to represent their own personal story. The Boat Project, based near Portsmouth, is one of 12 entries to the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, and will be ready to set sail later this year.
