View down on coarse gravel in the Bow River

Looking down from a bridge, it is late summer and the water level in the river is low, exposing the gravel (pebbles, cobbles and boulders) that forms the river bed (channel floor) here, next to St. Patrick Island, a bit east of downtown Calgary. At the extreme upper left corner the pebbles are brown, wet and coated with algae.
