The Blue Jester
Koblenz
Koblenz is a German city on the banks of the Rhine River and the Moselle, a multinational tributary. Its name originates from the Latin word cōnfluentēs, meaning "(at the) confluence".
Roman politician and military commander Drusus established outposts throughout what was then known as Germania. Later troops commanded by Julius Caesar reached the Rhine and built a bridge between Koblenz and Andernach, about 9 BC, the “Castellum apud Confluentes.”
Koblenz is the site of rich historical and political events & a wide variety of architectural, cultural, educational and religious treasures. It hosts a diverse range of events throughout the calendar year, with something to suit every taste including traditional festivals, entertaining events & seasonal markets, making a visit to Koblenz an unforgettable experience.
