Self Portrait Wray

I believe this photo meets the project goals because it is clearly a self portrait. Not only is it a picture of me but it also displays thoughts which I have been thinking recently. The image is darker and also lit dramatically in order to show how this is a dramatic point in my life. I am deciding my future which has been very stressful and this image correctly portrays that because I seem to be looking off into space. And also it's hard to make out where I am. Which also represents how I do not quite know what my next chapter in life will be. What I did when taking this picture is worked with framing in order to get the focal point of the image into a intersection of the rule of the thirds. The focal point is clearly my face and I was successful in framing it onto the rule of thirds. I also messed around with the exposure in order to get the correct amount of darkness I wanted in the photo. I also changed the position of the camera several times to create the most dramatic effect with the lighting on the face, hand, and torso. In editing I simply used curves to make the contrast higher and also increased saturation. I lowered the exposure slightly to create a more dramatic feel. And then used the stamp tool to remove a few distraction in the black of the image which I think makes the figure stand out any more. I think this image was overall successful.
