Increasingly seen as a health hazard by some scientific and medical bodies, sugar is being viewed by them as the next 'bad boy' food additive that we humans consume (and often crave). Obesity, tooth decay and some forms of diabetes being the suggested result of it's consumption.
Here, sugar cane grows in the sub-tropical climate of Queensland. Later when fully grown it may be set on fire before harvesting so as to kill any suspected plant pests along with the rats & snakes who make it their home.
