What a nice view from here!
Trekking over Mount Kenya, its panorama solemn with jagged peaks and equatorial snows, is 5,199m high. But we climb up to 4,985m to the top of Point Lenana – the most accessible of the three peaks. The climb is hard, with oxygen levels decreasing at every step, but reaching the summit is a great achievement. The expedition lasts five days, and is very well organised; with competent and expert guides. Food, drink, camping equipment and personal belongings are all transported separately so that you can concentrate on the views … and on your breathing!

Il Monte Kenya, dal panorama solenne con le sue cime frastagliate e le nevi equatoriali, è alto 5.199m ma noi saliamo, a piedi, fino a 4.985m per la precisione a Punta Lenana la cima, delle tre, quella più accessibile agli escursionisti. La salita è abbastanza dura con l'aria che si fa più povera di ossigeno ad ogni passo ma raggiugere la vetta è una bella sfida. La spedizione dura 5 giorni ed è organizzata veramente bene con guide esperte e competenti. Cibo, bevande, attrezzature da campeggio ed effetti personali vengono trasportati a parte per consentirci di concentrarci solo sul panorama e sul ... fiato!
