Procida IMG_7069 b

Marina Grande. Procida was colonized by ancient Myceneans, ancient Greeks, and by Roman patricians, who used it as a pleasure resort during Roman rule. After the fall of the Roman Empire, the island was devastated by the Vandals, the Goths, and later the Saracens. The population resettled in the fortified village of Terrra Murata.

Procida has been chosen as a film set for numerous films. The most famous are Il Postino and The Talented Mr. Ripley.
