Birmingham, Curzon Street
My diary records that I was 'spare' on Monday 2nd July 1990 when I took my camera for a walk from Proof House Junction to Vauxhall & Duddeston.
The base restday relief signalman's roster showed me as 'Late Turn Curzon Street' that day but three weeks earlier I had been given the Saturday night / Sunday morning job of clipping points and providing protection to enact the 'Section C' entry which permanently closed Curzon Street signal box.
I completed these duties at 0130 hours on Sunday 10th June 1990, took the train register and other documents to the inspectors office at New Street and went home to bed.
So three weeks later I had the opportunity to record these images.
Between August 1987 and July 1989 I had averaged one shift a month at Curzon Street, then after a long gap my final half a shift working that box was on Thursday 12th April 1990, 1400-1800hrs after earlys at New Street (south panel).
