Wilde and Vilde - and someone else!
This bench statue we found in Galway city is of Oscar Wilde and Eduarde Vilde (an Estonian writer). The sculptor Tiuu Kirsipuu made the original work in 1999, of an imagined meeting between these two men, who never actually met. The original is in Estonia, and this copy was presented to Galway city when Estonia joined the EU in 2004.
