London Buses 150 years
Some pictures taken by the late Michael Cleary in July 1979.
The occasion was the 150th anniversary of the start of bus services in London. There was a rally in Hyde Park. Preceding that was a road run featuring numerous historic buses - all lead by the replica of the original George Shilibeer Omnibus of 1829 (that had been built in 1929).
Michael took pictures in Pentonville Road and at Kings Cross.
The 'Shoplinker' was an unsuccessful service tried out at the time linking Central London shops.
