The Boleyn

West Ham F.C. nowadays play at the former Olympic Stadium in Stratford. But they used to play at Upton Park, very close to this pub, which was adopted as the favoured pub for fans. The crane you can see is on the redeveloped site of the stadium. This is a very grand and ornate late Victorian pub, but over the years it had become a bit run down, no doubt not helped by the relocation of West Ham.

Now a lot of money has been spent returning it to its former glory. It is now truly splendid and a visit is recommended. On this day, post match, there were plenty of West Ham fans who had returned to their old haunt. Watching from across the road is a statue of some famous West Ham players of the past.
