Fleetlines were on the way out in May 1984. DM2558 had reached the giddying old age of 6 years!

This is Moorgate.

There were some truly horrible buses built in the 1970's (I'm looking at you Leyland National, Bristol LH and Atlantean AN68) but for sheer lame naff-ness the DMS/DM gets a special prize. I think the designer of the bodywork drew round a cigarette packet and said 'that will do'. Just punch some holes in it for doors and windows....

I suppose they weren't TOO bad to ride on. They were just so bloody depressing!
