The Clearing
Hiking the short path down to Ruby Beach in Washington State. The goal was to get there for sunset over the Pacific Ocean but the conditions weren't right for that. The next goal was to make it to the huge sea stacks that dot the coastline in this area. Again, I failed as the water from rivers and other parts inland were just too big to navigate up the beach. So here is an overlook stop on the hike down from the parking lot. Still an awesome sight and if you enlarge the image you can see how many people were on the beach taking in the sights. That first look of the ocean is always something I hold very dear to my heart each time I return to it.
