West Bottoms Sunset
Case Park overlooking the West Bottoms area of Kansas City. In my opinion this is one of the premier spots to take in a sunset. There are views of the Missouri River to the right (not seen here) and of Kansas City, KS. The area below once was used for livestock back in the 1940's.
In its heyday only the stockyard in Chicage was bigger than this one. Everything dropped off dramatically after the Great Flood of 1951 which devastated the stockyards and associated businesses and slaughterhouses. After the flood, the stockyards never recovered.
