Pair of piercing eyes as blue as the sky behind them looked at me as someone looks at another who just ruined a meal that took few hours to be cooked just before the family arrived. Eyes were piercing from two holes in a landscape of deeply carved lines of times, so many that it was hard to image how this face looked like when she was still a young girl. I took another step back in unexplainable urge to run away and find a hidden spot or a shelter when her gaze focused on you. I squeezed your hand and started to pull you towards my imagined route to escape when all those wrinkles changed into one big joyful smile of an innocent girl singing welcoming words:”Que bella! Que carina! Vieni vieni, benvenuto!” She marched towards you with such an agility I knew right away I had no chance with my escape plan. You smiled as well and it felt like a reunion of two best friends seeing each other again after many decades. After a warm and caring hug she took your hand and invited you to her garden while I stood there puzzling and clueless as any man watching women’s behavior and trying to make sense of it. One thing was certain, I felt like I do not exist any more. They were in their world and I was, well here among amazing scenery of wild grass
finding fertile ground on the moss on the top of the old stone as to show us how we can build as we like but plants will always find a way to top that. I decided to park myself in the midst of exceptional mix of Mediterranean scents and wait for you to come back to my world again.
