QUARRY BANK MILL :: STYAL :: CHESHIRE :: England, UK
'Mothering Sunday' so out for a walk with family along the River Bollin in Styal Woods on a lovely warm and bright day. We've also called in for lunch several times after a visit to St Ann's at Heald Green.
The mill was built in 1784, the same year of the full ratification of the treaty to end the American Revolutionary war (which had actually ended early in the year before). Styal was a cotton mill and the first American bale of cotton was imported to Britain the same year the mill was built.
