I was very excited to capture this peregrine sihouetted by the moon. While these raptors always stand on their own, there was just something about this scene that made the bird that much more compelling.

Was suprised to see how large barn owls actually are. Out of all the owls I have had the opportunity to see, they seem to be the most elusive.

The ferruginous hawk, Buteo regalis, is a large bird of prey and belongs to the broad-winged buteo hawks. An old colloquial name is ferrugineous rough-leg, due to its similarity to the closely related rough-legged hawk.

I had the opportunity to run into this White faced Heron while visiting Manly Beach, Australia.
This Winter, this "lil groundhog" came out of his hole, saw his shadow, went back in his hole, never to be seen again...hopefully he will be back when Spring gets here....Bring back the Screech!!!
