On the morning I slipped into the marsh at first light and was happy when I observed Black Skimmers operating in the area. My position offered up this magical photo as a backlit skimmer pulls up and aborts an unsuccessful run. I just love the way the water droplets flowing from the birds beak are highlighted by the rising sun.
