Anthropomorphism is the attribution of human traits, emotions, or intentions to non-human entities. With that said, it is our innate tendency to view animal behavior through the human lense. When I saw this Great Horned Owlet yawning, I could only think of how contagious human yawning could be. Owls yawn frequently for a variety of reasons, not the least of which has anything to do with being out on an all night bender the night before.
