Anhinga
Anhinga catching some late afternoon shut eye. When I came upon this bird I knew the light green background would contrast nicely with the bird’s deep black feathers. It’s hard not to see this bird’s feathers as fur.
Fun facts: The Anhinga has several aka’s: snakebird, darter, American Darter., and Water Turkey. The word Anhinga comes from the Brazilian Tupi language, which means devil bird or snake bird.
