Snowy Egret and muddy shoes

At a local swamp near my house I set out to explore one day after work in September. It wasn't long before I came upon this Snowy Egret yapping it up. As I moved to get a bit closer, I forgot I was not dressed for "swamp work." My next step would be one I would regret when I stepped into the muck that brought me up to my knees in goop. The commotion I made -struggling to get out of the mud with both my shoes - flushed the bird, but made for a memorable story for me when I see this photo.
