Day two, and the second flower opened.
Lighting and setup stuff
Two hotshoe flashes in small softboxes, fired by radio triggers.
Vivitar 283s in 40cm softboxes, one on each side just out of frame.
The camera-left softbox was positioned a tad further away from the camera in order to backlight through the petals of both blooms. I wanted the camera-right softbox to graze a touch of light directly into the bloom closest to it so I pulled it a little towards the camera and raised it a little higher than the other..
