Craig Of Campbeltown (t/a City Sightseeing Glasgow) Dennis Trident/Plaxton President

A capital interloper in Scotland’s premier city

When Lothian Buses replaced its fleet of open top Tridents with a brand new fleet of open-top Volvo B5TLs/Wright Gemini 3, the former Tridents were snapped up by various operators to supplement their tourist operations. Although the buses were over fifteen years old by this stage, Lothian’s exemplary engineering standards meant the buses were still in excellent condition for their age.

West Coast Motor’s Craig Of Campbeltown subsidiary acquired three of these buses including this one, 19902 (P100WCM) which was former Lothian Buses 526 (V526ESC). They tend to be used to support the Glasgow tour in summer months, when Glasgow gets a massive influx of tourists, but one was subsequently sent to Oban to launch a tour there, although that’s not re-appeared for summer this year (2018). So these former Edinburgh tour buses may all be appearing in Glasgow this year. They wear a generic City Sightseeing livery which allows them to be used on other tours around Scotland if needed.
