Drakkar Leviathan
Im Norden Norwegens, nahe der Stadt Vardø am Barentsmeer, erhebt sich ein beeindruckendes Kunstwerk: der Drakkar Leviathan. Diese Installation verbindet die Form eines Drachenboots, der berühmten Wikingerschiffe, mit dem Leviathan, einem mythologischen Seeungeheuer. Sie symbolisiert die tiefe Verbindung der nordischen Kultur zum Meer und den Naturgewalten.
Sie wurde im Sommer 2016 vom Team Taibola Assemble aus Archangelsk/Severodvinsk errichtet und besteht aus massiven Holzbalken.
In northern Norway, near the town of Vardø on the Barents Sea, rises an impressive work of art: the Drakkar Leviathan. This installation combines the shape of a dragon boat, the famous Viking ships, with the Leviathan, a mythological sea monster. It symbolizes the deep connection of Nordic culture to the sea and the forces of nature.
It was erected in the summer of 2016 by the Taibola Assemble team from Arkhangelsk/Severodvinsk and is made of massive wooden beams.
