224/365 Light Painting Writ Large

Another boring title would be something like "Lightning over the Thompson River". Standing up on the ridge, watching this unfold I found myself both in awe of the sheer power and danger present, while also seeing the beauty of nature unfold. Lightning strikes where I live are one of the most common sources of serious forest fires than can span kilometres, sometimes hundreds of square kilometres, of forest at a go. I hope none were started tonight, but I fear with so much lightning the past few days that there are bound to be some. This, by the way, is my first ever photograph of lightning. I can see why some are so drawn to the subject and I suspect now that I have a taste of it I will do much more.
