The Gatekeeper
The gatekeeper manually closes the level crossing gates at Brundall station on the Wherry Line (Norwich to Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth). These gates are manually operated and divide the up and down platforms at Brundall. The keeper has a hut (on the right just out of view). When a train approaches, the signalman at the junction box rings a bell for the gates to be opened. A dying practice on modern railways.....
