The 3 foot gauge Soller Railway runs for 27kms from Palma in Majorca up to Soller in the mountains. The line was opened in 1912 with steam locomotives but converted to electric working in 1929 using Siemens and AEG equipment. At the summit (210 metres) there is a 2.8kms tunnel followed by a spiral leading on a steep decent into Soller. The original power cars are still working.
This oddity was found in the yard at Soller. It was built in 1937 by mounting a 1920's Renault car on rail axles.
