Bode's Galaxy and the Cigar Galaxy (M81 & M82)
Bode's Galaxy (also known as NGC 3031 or Messier 81) is a spiral galaxy about 12 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major. At its heart is a supermassive black hole. To its right is the Cigar Galaxy (also known as NGC 3034 or Messier 82) which is a starburst galaxy five times as bright as the whole Milky Way. This photo was taken using an astromodified Canon EOS 1000D attached to my Sky-Watcher Explorer 190MN. The image comprises 16 x 40s images stacked using Nebulosity 3.
