Also shown are clouds of Carbon dioxide or water-based ice crystals (bottom left). Roughly half the size of Earth, Mars has an orange dusty surface boasting vast, dark, rock expanses. This image was captured using a QHY IMG132E attached to a Sky-Watcher Explorer 190MN Pro, with a Tele Vue 2x Powermate to increase magnification. The image is the result of 500 x 15ms exposures, stacked using AutoStakkert2 and processed using Registax 6.
