The Original Tag
The tag consists of Hebrew letters spelling the word "Bright." Bright because my name is Gaelic and it is a huge part of who I am. My name is what makes me unique. I used to hate being questioned over and over again on the pronunciation and origin and as a shy child I hated being put in the spotlight. But now I appreciate how it makes me different and it has a special meaning to me now as I grow into the name and it's meaning. When I was young, my parents often told me of the Goddess in Irish mythology, Niamh. She was the queen of TÃr na nÃg, the land of eternal youth. She was the lover of the poet-hero OisÃn, the story is actually quite sad but compelling. It is given in the explanation of another picture on the sight since it is relevant to the picture's meaning. I strive to be thought of as a bright person, meaning kind and energetic, therefore the lettering represents me. I chose Hebrew for two reasons, the first being I grew up in a strict Irish Catholic home. Both my parents were born and raised in Irish Catholic homes as well, my mother even more so since she went to boarding school in a convent run by nuns. Church every Sunday and prayers every night were a natural part of my childhood and define me as a person as well. The second reason being my first real relationship was with a boy who had a tattoo on his arm in Hebrew lettering. The tattoo spelt the word "Spirit" I learnt a lot about myself in that relationship and had some experiences that shaped me into the person I am today. The lettering is against a horse's silhouette. The most obvious reason for this is because horses are possibly the most important thing in my life. I love all animals in general but horses in particular. I have been riding from a young age, no one pushed me to do it, I simply did it out of love for these beautiful animals and soon learned to live horse riding as a sport and continue to ride and work at my barn today. Secondly the horse is a symbol for freedom, a horse is free - something I want to be and something I think everyone should be able to be.
The tag is printed on a background of a girl enjoying the water throwing it up in joy. I thought it would be appropriate simply because I can see myself doing it as I have many times and because of the joy and freedom the picture represents.
