Tick Map Study

Research technician Renee Kong breaks cell samples in order to extract DNA that may identify pathogens carried by ticks. A citizen science project led by Division of Agriculture entomologists Ashley Dowling and Kelly Loftin resulted in an interactive map that shows the distribution of tick species around Arkansas and the tick-borne disease pathogens identified in each location.
