Chelle's New Whip
Just took it out for a test ride today.
I had to fill the basket with the following contents:
1. Medicine for one of the animals (and cheese to wrap it up with). We're leaving town (tonight) to get married (on the 30th) and had had to leave the dog sitter a full supply.
2. Dinner from Dish. It's got delicious carry-out if you live anywhere close to the east side of the D or the Grosse Pointes.
3. 2 1/2 gallons of gas to fill the lawn mower. I got a few looks and a "sign of the times" comment about carrying gasoline on the front of a bicycle.
Overall, the ride is great but I do have to admit the bike is not too stable with a loaded front end. This was not so much of a problem after I reached anywhere between 10-20 MPH, but I felt a bit wobbly at lower speeds. Using the kickstand with a loaded front end was just out of the question. I guess I need to spring for the double kickstand...or find/fabricate a flickstand to secure the front tire.
