Proof of concept for driving two stepper motors with arduino MMIX (duemilanove) in half-step mode. Digital outputs 4-7 and 8-12 are connected through LEDs to the coils of the 6-wire stepper motors. The common terminals of the stepper motors are connected to the 5V supply, i.e., the digital outputs are active-LOW.
