A beauty pageant titled 'Miss Glory of Universe' began here on Friday for a different cause by Aman Gandhi film productions and associations with ISHARYA Fashion n Trends, Bhopal: to draw the world's attention to the incarceration of Sarabjit Singh in Pakistan and demanding his release. "It is not only a beauty contest but it is also a platform where beauty and peace will come together. We have specially organised this to make a heartfelt appeal to Pakistan to exonerate Sarabjit Singh, who is jailed in Pakistan since 1990. We will also demand the release of other innocent prisoners in Pakistan jails," said Mahesh Yadav (aman Gandhi), the organiser of the show, while speaking to the Hindustan Times.

The four-day beauty pageant started on Friday at Hotel Ronak Plaza in MP Nagar. The show Miss Glory of Universe 2013 held at 20th January 2013 in Hotel Vigyashree in MP Nagar Bhopal. The sister of Sarabjit Singh, Dalbir Kaur, and her daughter Poonam Kaur, a Director of German television, Boris Erdtmann were the chief guest of the show.

The title winner of the contest is slated to visit Pakistan along with activists Mahesh Yadav(Aman Gandhi), and other team members. They will be carrying the 50-feet long banner with them and they will also be submitting a memorandum, a blood letter appeal and video messages of film stars to the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan. "A similar memorandum, a blood letter and video messages will be submitted to the USA also," he added.

The Winner Sarah Knappik said, "It is a great honour to me to present myself as a peace ambassador here in India and to support the innocent prisoners. I am also here to support those innocent prisoners who are imprisoned in German jails. If I come out to be winner I will definitely visit Pakistan to make the appeal. There will be no objections from my side in this concern. I am feeling so happy to be the part of this contest and I have bought an Indian sari to wear for the show.

Title winner Miss glory of Earth Aakansha Dhiman from Chandigarh said, "The theme of the Show inspired me a lot. It brought a good and positive feeling inside me to take part in this Show. My parents are here with me, they also stand by me."

The winner of the contest will also be given an opportunity to act in the Bollywood movie Blood Satyagraha, which is based on social cause, as the parallel lead role, the organisers said. Other title winners will get supporting roles in this film, which will be released on August 9, 2013

On the third and final day, Dalbir, Poonam and Boris Erdtmann from Germany were chief guests while Ram Gopal Bansal, a social activist, and Dolly Tongia, Miss Himalaya world and her Mother Mrs. Kalpana Tongia were the jury members.

Thanking Dr. Mahesh Yadav(Aman Gandhi) for organising the event for her brother's release, Dalbir Kaur said, "I am very upset with Indian government. If they had shown their concern in time, my brother would have been standing with me now."

"Every time on Raksha Bandhan, this sister waits for her brother to come and celebrate the festival with her. His wife is still waiting for her husband at that door from where her husband went one day and never came back. His daughter is still waiting for her father to come and hug her. Of course, we lit candles on Diwali but it seems like nothing enlightened us, everything seems to be off coloured. I appeal you all to help us get my innocent brother and all those who are suffering like him out of that burden," she said.

Speaking to Media, Dalbir Kaur said, it seemed like she was attending a big show that would help for the release of her brother. She met the former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao, but it was of no use.

Poonam burst into tears on the stage while remembering painful days and nights she spent without her father.

"I appeal to all the Indians to extend their support for my father's release. He is innocent. Please help me and my family get him out of the bars, which departed a father from his daughter. I am still waiting for my father."

Talking to Media Poonam said, "I don't know whether this pageant will help us or not, but I will not miss a single opportunity that will help my father's release. It feels good when somebody shows concern regarding this matter."

"We recently made an appeal to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to exert pressure on Pakistan to release my father. So far, we have visited 173 leaders but they did nothing for us," Sarbarjit's daughter said.

The contestants of the pageant carried a poster in their hands and displayed them boldly on ramp to make an appeal for release of Sarabjeet Singh. After the show all winners and Dalbir Kaur and poonam kaur signed a 50 feet long banner which is to be gifted to Pakistan after taking the Signatures of Indian citizens with video Messages.
