from: 'The Bees in Your Backyard' by Josef S. Wilson and Olivia Messinger Carril, 2016. 'Great range from the Great Plains to Costa Rica. Relatively uncommon. 12 kinds in US and 6 in Canada. A number of sp are specialists on flowers of the sunflower family (Asteracea). All sp appear to be solitary. Nest in open ground, often in fairly dense aggregations, line their few nest cells with a waterproof substance, and don't spin cocoons.'
