Late August 1992 - Extensive Dampier Salt Limited (DSL) evaporation ponds on approach to Port Hedland Airport, Western Australia

- Viewpoint is looking north-east from the starboard side of an ANSETT WA BAe 146 "Junior Jumbo" passenger jet from an altitude of approx. 800 meters, during the downwind leg (over Redbank) before turning onto final approach & landing at Port Hedland airport.

- Apart from the obvious seasonal difference & greatly reduced marshland vegetation cover, not a lot has changed in 30 years, as can be seen using 2022 Google Maps 3D:

- I captured the original image using a hand-held CANON EOS-1 SLR with AGFA XRS 100 35mm color negative film & a Tamron 28-300mm AF Zoom lens.

- Digitized using a CANON Canoscan 8800F scanner @ 3200 dpi & 48 bit color depth.

- Image enlarged, sharpened & film grain/noise significantly reduced using Topaz Gigapixel AI.

- Image accent, color saturation, sharpness & contrast improved using Skylum Luminar AI.

- Final fine editing & adjustments made using Adobe Photoshop CS (Windows).

- Image size = 5828x3868px [22.5MP].
