The Ravens of Yosemite
Ravens are considered the most intelligent birds, displaying high learning ability and use of logic for solving problems, in some cases surpassing the chimpanzees. They are able to count and they posses complex language skills. Their calls can express a wide range of emotions. They are able to imitate other birds and, like a parrot, can even be taught human speech. Ravens will get other animals to do tasks for them. Unable to break through the tough skin of a carcass, they make calls to attract wolves and foxes to expose the meat for them. They have been known to play with wolf cubs and tease wildlife, repeatedly pulling the tails of wolves and quickly jumping out of the way. In Yellowstone, ravens perched on the roofs of supermarkets waiting for people to pass so that they could push snow on them! If I were a bird, I'd be a raven!!
