100 Strangers #21/100 - Wanda
This is my twenty-first portrait for 100 Strangers.
Hi folks; please meet Wanda. Following our overnight stay in Lake Havasu City, we took the short walk over the old London Bridge. On 'tother side we popped into a small and pleasant gift shop to get a drink; 'twas there that I met Wanda, a friend of the owner!
It was the t-shirt that first caught my eye and following a friendly chat I asked Wanda if she would consider being my latest Stranger. She didn't hesitate, telling me that she was often asked if people may take her photo and that she had done some modelling in the past. Originally from Texas but living now in Lake Havasu, Wanda is married to a 'cowboy' (hence the t-shirt) who is a trophy winning bull rider having won 3 buckles. I told Wanda that I was a cowboy but somehow she didn't believe me!
Again I used my EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens for this shot with only the natural daylight coming through the door for illumination. And i had to colour pop the t-shirt!
Thanks Wanda, I hope you like your portrait; needless to say we are no longer strangers :-)
I intend to make this a 100 strangers in B&W with maybe the odd splash of colour!
This picture is #21 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page
