100 Strangers #20/100 - Tracey
This is my twentieth portrait for 100 Strangers.
Good evening folks; I would like you all to meet Tracey. During our first day in San Francisco we visited Haight-Ashbury, the focal point for the famous 1966 'summer of love' happening. HA, while having a touch of the tourist destination about it, still retains that bohemian / hippy feel. While taking a beer break in a local pub I noticed Tracey, or to be more accurate I noticed Tracey's trousers. Apparently she and her friends at the bar had just been discussing them, so my interruption to propose 100 Strangers was timely.
Tracey, originally from Long Island NY, is a 'student' of the Beat Generation; Kerouac, Ginsburg et al and when asked what she'd like to be doing if not here answered that she'd like to be lying in the park reading about art and literature.
A lovely young lady, Tracey's close-up head and shoulders shot was technically the best of my crop, but this, slightly blurred, shot really captured her fun loving and adventurous character; her friends agreed.
Again I used my EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens for this shot with only the natural window light light for illumination.
Tracey, cheers and I hope you like your portrait; needless to say we are no longer strangers :-)
I intend to make this a 100 strangers in B&W with maybe the odd splash of colour!
This picture is #20 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page
