100 Strangers #19/100 - Lauren
This is my nineteenth portrait for 100 Strangers.
I would like to introduce you all to Lauren. The start of this year's summer holiday to the US involved a Virgin Atlantic flight to San Francisco, Lauren was one of the excellent cabin crew (CC) that looked after us.
I'd been taking phots of the 747's wing tips (sad I know) and got into a brief conversation with some of the CC in the kitchenette area. I happened to mention 100 Strangers and Lauren was keen to participate. From Birmingham, Lauren is a keen B&W pencil drawing artist and was pleased therefore that the majority of my portraits are in B&W. I asked her what she would rather be doing rather than serving us coffee; lying on a beach was her preferred option.
Although I took a full length shot, Lauren and I both liked a head and shoulders crop although Lauren was a little concerned about her fringe. No need to worry Lauren, I think you looked great.
I used my EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens for this shot with only the rather unnatural cabin light for illumination.
Lauren, thank you and I hope you like your portrait; needless to say we are no longer strangers :-)
I intend to make this a 100 strangers in B&W with maybe the odd splash of colour!
This picture is #19 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page
