100 Strangers #18/100 - Rachel
This is my eighteenth portrait for 100 Strangers.
I would like to introduce you all to Rachel. Sunday night I attended a fund raiser organised by some good friends at The Fox Inn, Thorpe Waterville. They had booked a band (name currently unknown), a friend of whom was singer and bass guitarist, to play after the meal. It turned out it was their first gig and Rachel had turned up to support them. I approached her to ask what style of music the threesome would be playing and then took the opportunity, while the band were setting up, to explain 100 strangers and ask if she would participate. Rachel was happy to oblige and we were soon taking some shots near to a large fireplace. I took a few full length portraits and a couple of close-ups; this is Rachel's choice and I agreed with her selection.
The band were excellent and as soon as I know their name I'll let y'all know :-)
I used my EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens for this shot along with a Canon Speedlite 270EXII flashgun; my first portrait in this series using flash.
Rachel I hope you like your portrait; needless to say we are no longer strangers :-)
I intend to make this a 100 strangers in B&W with maybe the odd splash of colour!
This picture is #18 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page
