100 Strangers #5/100 - Steve

This is my fifth portrait for 100 Strangers. I introduced myself to Steve in the octagonal hide @ Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust's College Lake Nature Reserve. Steve was obviously quite knowledgeable about birds and as I haven't a clue I started to ask him about the various waterfowl on display. He was very helpful and keen to pass on his expertise. As he was about to leave I plucked up the courage and I took the opportunity to explain to Steve about 100 Strangers. He was really up for it so we took a couple of shots inside the hide. Unfortunately I only had my 100-400mm with me so had to get as far into the corner as possible to get most of Steve in; it must have looked quite comical! Nevertheless here's the portrait of Steve who is no longer a stranger :-)

I intend to make this a 100 strangers in B&W with maybe the odd splash of colour!

This picture is #5 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page
