Natural Selection
Detail from the installation 'How the Artist Was Led to the Study of Nature' in the exhibition Natural Selection at the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne. The exhibition is a collaboration between father and son Andy and Peter Holden focusing on birds' nests and birds' eggs. This work replicates in painted porcelain a hoard of 7,130 eggs, largely of endangered birds, collected illegally and subsequently destroyed by the RSPB after the collector's conviction.
