Function

Function can relate to habitat function which means a refuge or a habitat for animals and plants. As we were told, tree stumps are one of the largest habitats for animals and plants in the forest. They help insects survive. This tree stump is the perfect example of this. You can see that there are living plants surrounding it and animals and plants are able to live within and around the tree stump. The tree stump then serves a function.
