Fay Stout
James (#3/100)
This evening I went to an opening reception for Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) at the Bath House Cultural Center at White Rock Lake. It was a jovial affair and lots of people milling about in awe of the art being presented and some were even dressed for the occasion or had face painting in the spirit of the event.
As I was looking at this piece of artwork, the fella next to me was also looking at it quite intently and then turned to me and said he is going on a trip to Mexico soon for Day of the Dead and was considering decorating his face and thought this to be quite interesting. He gave me a chuckle... and that is how I met James.
We chatted about travel and photography, and I asked if he would consider being in my stranger challenge and he agreed to do so. I thought it would be perfect to have his photo taken next to the piece of art he was admiring.
I wish you a wonderful trip James, and I do hope you will take lots of photos. The celebration in Mexico is quite unique!
