Jan 2010 - Day 3
Felt a bit better today so a bit more enthusiastic about finding bits to declutter.
Found a bit more today as we took down the Christmas decorations and I managed to have a sort out.
From top left:
Box of toiletries from under the bathroom sink. There’s cotton wool, a new talcum powder, cotton buds, that type of thing. Gave these to a friend for a homeless shelter.
A bag of unwanted Christmas decorations. Had some of these for years and don’t want them any more. Put these in the charity bag.
An electric back massager. Had this quite a few years ago, used it about 3 times, then it was stored away. Unfortunately during the storage the plug for it managed to get lost so it’s no good now. Have to put this in the bin because I don’t know if it would work even if I had a plug because it’s been unused for so long.
2 empty sweet tins, ashamed to say that we ate all these in 2 weeks over Christmas! I don’t need any more empty tins lying around the house and can’t think of any use for them, so I’ll offer them on Freecycle.
2 books that I won’t read. Going to the charity shop.
Christmas TV guide – put in paper recycling
5 pairs of earrings that I bought in Claire’s Accessories’ sale. I won’t use them so I’ll give them to the charity shop.
A shot glass with ‘Helen’ on it. I got this because I thought it would be a good idea for my daughter, but I don’t think she’d use it. Back to the charity shop it goes.
An out of date pack of rice cakes. Can’t think why I bought these in the first place, I don’t really like them and they had got lost at the back of a cupboard. I put them out on the lawn for the birds.
A pile of DVDs that we’ve finished with. In the charity shop bag.
A few more things gone today, and far more than 10 items because things like the DVDs, earrings, books, toiletries and Christmas decs I've only counted as 1 item each.
