The third day, the flood

I hinted at it in the descriptions of some of the images from Kandersteg, but here are the results of a very wet beginning to Summer in Switzerland. After raining seemingly everyday for weeks on end, the lakes filled up and many of them as well as numerous rivers burst their banks. The Limmat was one of the more well behaved ones here in the northwest of Switzerland, but even here the flow of water was incredible to see.

I decided to go with some longer exposures here, to give a strong impression of the water rushing by. Without a tripod I was finding whatever I could to lean on and steady myself and in the end most of the images came out surprisingly sharp considering the approximately 1 second shutter speeds.
