Stresa -- Grand Hotel des Iles Borromees

Historic five-star hotel (with prices to match! -- $$$$$) in Stresa and former hospital/recuperation center during World War I. Ernest Hemingway was a former resident (1918) and later used this location as one of the settings in his novel "A Farewell to Arms".
